Mr Wheeler, chemistry teacher and HOD of science, braved a different set of pupils last week with visitors from First Years Preschool.
It is never too young to take an interest in science and the 4-year-old pupils were enthralled. With experiments taking place and the science rooms bustling with excitement, it was a memorable experience for the children and future students of Dannevirke High School.
Chantal Buckley, a Year 12 student at DHS, has had some exciting news of late. Firstly, Chantal has been selected to attend the 25th Rotary National Science and Technology Forum. Thank you to all who sponsored Chantal in her endeavour to attend this forum. I look forward to reporting on her experience. Secondly, showing her skills in many areas, Chantal has been accepted to publication in the youth short story collection
Re-Draft. As part of her level 2 assessment in her writing portfolio for English, Chantal created a short story based on World War I.
It's exciting to announce the DHS Art Exhibition that is opening in the Visual Arts Department at Dannevirke High school tonight. The official opening by Dr De Villiers is at 5.15pm, followed by viewing from between 5pm and 7pm. The event is a senior portfolio and retrospective exhibition. Students, family, staff and friends of Dannevirke High School are warmly welcomed. It is an amazing opportunity to see the extensive talent of our students. I look forward to seeing you there.
