Cavalier Bremworth CEO Paul Alston visited the Napier Spinning plant on Friday, the last stop in a busy week of meetings after the firm's decision to consolidate its carpet-making business to Awatoto, bringing 39 new jobs to Napier following 68 lost in Whanganui and Christchurch.

Mr Alston said the consolidation would cost up to $4.5 million but payback would be in a little more than one year.
