Young Surf Lifesavers gear up for Oceans' 24

The district’s junior surf lifesavers are making their final preparations for the Oceans’ 24: Festival of Junior Lifesaving at Mount Maunganui at the end of next week. It is the biggest junior carnival in the country and runs from February 22-25.

The three Gisborne clubs will have more than 50 young surf athletes taking part, among them (pictured) Wainui’s Rori Fukushima-Hall, Waikanae’s Jade Hopper and Midway’s Blake Taylor. Wainui will have 21 athletes racing for national honours, Waikanae 13, and Midway 20.
