A number of players narrowly missed out on selection for the Bay’s Heartland Championship squad but still have an opportunity to step up to first-class rugby over the season.

Doug Jones, Ken Houkamau and Josh Willoughby .
After their first outing against a Bay of Plenty Pasifika team in Whakatane on July 29, they head to Hawke’s Bay for Te Tini-a-Māui Māori Day Tournament at Hastings Rugby & Sports Club on August 5.
