Gisborne’s New Zealand Māori TaeKwonDo Club members had a successful King’s Birthday Weekend.

They attended the New Zealand United Taekwondo Open Nationals in Tauranga and brought back 12 gold medals, two silver and one bronze.

These results meant the club won the trophy for most success overall at the tournament, which was held in the Tauranga Boys’ College gymnasium over two days.

Baycity, of Napier, were second and host club Team KO, of Tauranga, were third.
