High-scoring and one-sided games are likely in Gisborne premier grade netball at the YMCA tomorrow night.
At 6pm, Claydens Waikohu (1) play Farmlands Ngatapa.
Waikohu had a big win when these teams met soon after Ngatapa’s promotion to premier grade.
Waikohu have been playing well and are third on the table.
Ngatapa have had some good passages of play but are still languishing near the bottom of the table.
Horouta have been playing well and are fourth-equal on the table.
Horouta were competitive against higher-seeded Waikohu 10 days ago and had an even closer game last Wednesday when they drew with Gisborne Girls’ High School, but they will need to bring their top game if they want to topple YMP.
• Gisborne Netball Centre’s under-18 team have travelled to Hamilton for the Netball New Zealand Under-18 National Championships.
A total of 34 teams are taking part, and a men’s u17 grade will be contested for the first time.
Gisborne Netball Centre’s u16s competed in the North Island champs in Taranaki last week and finished 11th in the B Grade.
Last year they won the C Grade competition, earning promotion to B Grade.
This year two of their three losses were close (one goal and three goals) so with a bit of luck they might have finished further up the table.
