Harrison was clearly rapt.
In a heartfelt message on the Gizzy Park Golfers Facebook page, he thanked all those involved including the Glassford whānau.
“Big Jack was smiling down on us all,” he wrote.
He also encouraged all Park members and the district golfing fraternity to support what is intended to be an annual event.
Co-organiser Tina Karaitiana said it was “a wonderful day enjoyed by all” and also acknowledged those “who came from near and far to support the tournament” and the sponsors.

Patutahi
The sound of shots being fired at Patutahi Golf Club are usually nearby bird scarers.
Not on Saturday.
Guns were blazing as the Tahi turned into the O.K. Corral and ended in Tombstone for all but two players at Patutahi’s men’s and women’s shootout finals.
As the smoke cleared, Cecil Brown and Shelley Robertson were left standing while the undertaker measured up.
A three- putt bogey from six-feet on the 18th proved good enough for Brown to make George Brown the last casualty of a war which started with 18 players (there was one no-show) and saw the field whittled down one by one, hole by hole.
George also three-jacked the last, albeit from a much longer distance than his opponent, but Cecil got a shot on the last and his net 4 beat net 5.
Six chip-offs or putt-offs were required after Rocky Pardoe did not front so was the first to go.
From there it was a stream of demises ranging from top qualifier Mike de Luze’s quadruple bogey on the fourth to Mason Smith’s volcanic eruption on the eighth.
Peter “Chopper” Summersby departed after a chip-off on the 17th, leaving the Browns to duke it out.
A putt-off on the 12th (and last hole) decided the women’s champ.
Robertson and Kath McLatchie negotiated the minefield to be the last two teeing off the par-3 12th.
McLatchie’s par putt to win it went agonisingly close and both players slotted short but pressure-filled putts to send it to a putt-off, which Robertson won.
Jandy Beattie was third overall while Jan Ewart had the unceremonious honour of being the first ejection.
Hukanui Brown rewrote the Patutahi record books with a men’s course record 11-under 59 on Sunday. Full story to follow.
