Kerr was impressive on her way to topping the LGU and national teams' qualifier on Saturday. She shot 77-8-67 to win the silver division.
Kerr will be joined in the Park team for the district final of the national qualifier at Maraenui on April 4 by Pat Johansen. Sue Maisey and Carolyn Carpendale, with Muir reserve.
Wayne Carpendale was an appropriate winner of an intermediate men's handicap cup final described as “a great battle” on Saturday.
Club president Carpendale beat Matt Henwood on the 18th hole to secure the President's Trophy.
■ Players have 1000 reasons to be the last man standing in the Digg It Gizzy 10-man shootout on the final edition of twilight golf.
The 10 qualifiers for the final were confirmed last week.
They were to tee off the 10th hole at 4pm today in the hole-by-hole net elimination final which ends with one survivor.
That player will pocket $1000 — well, a little less than that after the obligatory 19th-hole shout.
However, the flooding that hit Tairawhiti this week put a stop to that. The course is closed and the final has been postponed.
The gunfighters vying for the shootout crown are Matt Henwood, brothers Mike and Craig Christophers, Dave Rameka, Shannon Toa, Anthony Pahina, Tony File, James Witika, 2021 champion Steve Phillips and Neil Hansen.
