FUTSAL

Gisborne Intermediate girls’ and boys’ teams won the inaugural Super 11 futsal competition in Tauranga.

Four Gisborne teams attended — Gis Int’s two and girls’ and boys’ teams from  Ilminster Intermediate .

Super 11 tournaments are contested by intermediate schools in Gisborne and Bay of Plenty districts.

This was the first time a futsal (indoor football) competition had been included in the sports represented.

The Gisborne Intermediate girls were undefeated for the day. They played teams from Ilminster, Tauranga, Kaitao and Te Puke intermediate schools.

The Gisborne Intermediate boys finished top of their competition, having faced teams from Tauranga, Kaitao, Rotorua and Otumoetai.
