She has increased her degree of difficulty and improved her form in all her passes.
She had qualified twice for the national champs in Tauranga and now has hit the qualification again for the Australian nationals and the world champs to be held in Birmingham.
Her inclusion in the New Zealand team to Australia was announced on Thursday this week.
Haley Rolls, in her first competition this year, won gold in the FIG 11/12-year grade with an increased degree of diffculty (DD). In doing so, she also gained qualification for the New Zealand nationals.
Another putting in a fine performance in her first competition this year was Capria Tamatea, who took the silver medal in the national 15/16yr tumbling. Her tumbling runs showed her outstanding form, which gained her qualification for the New Zealand nationals as well.
This was a great start to the season for Tamatea, who will be working now on increasing her DD to match her eye-catching form.
Porsha Warren-Hillman took out the silver medal in the national 9/10yr grade and with more work on consistency in her passes she could easily move up to take the title.
Sophie Chambers, competing in the national 15/16yr grade, won bronze. Her continued improvement was demonstrated with more power and speed in her flic flacs (back handsprings). Now her coach would like to see a little more DD in her passes.
The Gisborne team members were on the move again this weekend, competing at Mt Roskill in Auckland at the Tristar Trampoline and Tumbling Champs.
