Wind and rain coming through

The latest weather outlook indicates residents in the Gisborne-East Coast region need to batten down the hatches for the next few days.

The forecast is not only for rain, but strong wind in the northern part of the district.

MetService now says  for Friday “there is moderate confidence rainfall will approach warning criteria in Auckland, Coromandel Peninsula and Tairawhiti/Gisborne, and this confidence extends into Saturday

for Tairāwhiti/Gisborne.

“For Hawke’s Bay in the north and about the ranges, there is

low confidence of heavy rain during Friday and Saturday.”

MetService also says there is low confidence of severe south-east gales over parts of the North Island, including northern Gisborne on Friday and early Saturday. — RH
