A big crowd attended the Beef + Lamb NZ community day in Ruatoria yesterday and organiser Pania King was overwhelmed with how it went. More than 200 people went to the Ruatōria aerodrome to spend time together, have some fun, and, if they needed it, take home some fencing gear.

The Beef + Lamb New Zealand Community Support Day in Ruatōria yesterday drew a massive response, with around 200 people through the site at the town’s aerodrome during the day.
“It was a phenomenal turnout,” said event organiser,” B+LNZ’s Pania King.
Almost all the available free fencing gear — posts,
wire, battens and staples — was given away to Coast farmers who needed it, along with some donated floodgates.
“It was an awesome day, and we had heaps of whānau through the gate.
“We were overwhelmed by the level of support for the day,” Mrs King said.
