Lynsey Bartlett has retired after decades of devotion to Gisborne’s health services.

Hauora Tairāwhiti has warmly farewelled Lynsey Bartlett who has worked in our local health services for over 40 years.
Mrs Bartlett started as an intensive care unit nurse before moving into management.
She was chief operating officer and general manager for medical surgical before taking on the Intern Lead roleafter long-serving chief executive Jim Green departed under the reforms that impacted on the former health boards.
Mrs Bartlett has been a staunch advocate for Tairāwhiti residents, and that fact was not lost on residents, as could be clearly seen by the numerous tributes that were flowing at her poroporo recently.
A lifetime of devoted service to Gisborne’s health services was acknowledged with much wairua.
Mrs Bartlett was an experienced leader of clinical services, having held senior roles in clinical quality, clinical leadership and health management at Hauora Tairāwhiti for over 20 years.
Mrs Bartlett held a particular focus on improving the availability of a range of sustainable services in the community, including growing and supporting the development of the local workforce.
After graduating as a registered nurse in 1984, she continued to study and gained postgraduate qualifications in health management and informatics, and a Master’s Degree in nursing.
