Voters merciless if they have been lied to

For those interested in voter response to information that influences their decisions in the polling booth, one thing is clear — the truth will out and when it does the reaction will be merciless if voters find out they have previously been fed a lie. 

In that context, the upcoming elections here in NZ in October and in the United States next year are likely to see similar outcomes.

While the results may be based on different preceding scenarios, there will be noteworthy similarities.

Here in Godzone, we are about to see the exposure of the Labour Government which based its 2020 election campaign on a record of keeping New Zealand safe during Covid (a record that in itself is challengeable given the associated destruction of personal freedoms and businesses), while keeping secret from the voters and even their coalition partner at the time their clandestine plans for a realigned governance of our strategic natural resources and some key ministries.

The most damaging of these plans were in the He Puapua report which was withheld from the public simply because the Government knew the information in this incendiary document would surely influence the outcome of the 2020 general election.

And it is not unreasonable to assume that the result would have been a defeat for Labour, instead of the actual result which included the deification of the Prime Minister.

The 2020 US Presidential election, while having a different result for the incumbent Donald Trump, was fought on a similar fraudulent basis.

It was known to the major media outlets in that country (whose job it is to seek and publish the truth) that the Democratic candidate’s son’s corrupt activities were a time bomb lying hidden in Hunter Biden’s laptop — yet the press chose to suppress this crucial information just months before the election.

Again, should that hugely damaging information — that has latterly been shown to expose the corrupt practices of the current administration, including the President himself — have been made public, it is not unreasonable to assume that the result would have seen Trump elected for a second term.

But this is where the two countries differ — although only slightly — when predicting the result of the upcoming elections.

Here in New Zealand, the press have at least carried out their duties to uphold the principles of a democratic society by ensuring the full exposure of the Ardern government’s failures.

The same cannot be said for the US 4th Estate where the challenges to the constitutional rights of voters are being condoned on a weekly basis.

Over there, the media (with one or two exceptions) are in lockstep partnership with the current administration in an attempt to deny Trump the opportunity to challenge for both the Republican Party nomination and the Presidency.

It beggars belief the extent to which these people will go in their irrational pursuit of victory.

Unfortunately, the gerrymandering of the justice system in multiple attempts to send the former President to jail is likely to succeed, unless this undemocratic process is brought to a halt in the US Supreme Court.

I’m not about to predict what will ultimately emerge from this abuse of the justice system but l am prepared to bet the house on an outcome should the voters be given the historical facts surrounding the events, which are currently being withheld.

The future of the free world is hanging by a thread.
