The Tiniroto Road at “the bluffs’” is closed to all vehicles due to a tension crack. Picture suppled

Gisborne District Council has closed the Tiniroto Road at ‘The Bluffs’ to all vehicles due to a tension crack that geo tech engineers have found in the bluff face.

“It  could come down onto the road without warning,” the council warns. Concrete barriers have been placed to close the road off.

“We’re aware that some people are driving around warning signs and normal barriers. This is dangerous – if roads are closed, it’s for your safety. The alternative route is via Parikanapa Road – it’s recommended 4WD only.”
