I had the privilege a few days ago of being in a village outside the Beehive. Unlike what Jacinda and the media portray, “a place of intolerable living conditions, which children should not be exposed to”, it was quite the contrary!
Being an elderly person, nearing her 70s, I was
at first apprehensive entering this domain. Have I ever experienced being with thousands of people, smiling and hugging: where the young and the old are entertained, and seemingly endless amounts of food to even satisfy the most fussy taste buds, and free? No!
The “Village” restored my immense pride, gratitude and hope for the future for all New Zealanders. There was no signs of discrimination and segregation.
