Three people have been charged with indecent assault and aggravated robbery after an alleged home invasion in which they are said to have stripped and searched a woman for drugs.
K’Las Tihore (21), Rachael Te Aho (27), and Tom Erwin Hawea (25), have been jointly charged for the alleged incident
on May 25, this year.
Police claim the three went to the woman’s house — possibly for the purpose of trying to extract an outstanding drugs debt — stripped her of her clothes, held her legs apart to search for drugs, then stole several items from the property before leaving.
Tihore applied for bail on Monday in Gisborne District Court. Judge Warren Cathcart refused to grant it and remanded him into custody.
Te Aho and Hawea were each scheduled for bail applications on Tuesday but counsel Alistair Clarke sought an adjournment. Their bail applications were re-scheduled for June 26.
