I’m an old white man, worst of all I’m also, dare I say it, a Babyboomer! The pits of the world, that’s me. Anyway, the purpose of this missive is to thank Millennials, Generation X, Y and Z and other victims of identity politics for kindly funding a couple of
operations I’ve recently undergone. They’ve changed my life and I’m sure these younger generations will take as much pride in looking after me as I did in looking after my revered elders when I was their age.
Most of all I have to pay tribute to all the medical professionals who have helped on the long road to “freedom”.
My path to good health started with a couple of excellent GPs who gave great support whilst advancing my case as quickly as the system would allow. Hmm!
I’m not into naming names as everybody does their bit in delivering good health to those in need. However, I am eternally grateful to the wielders of the knife. Mr Ailabouni (hip fixer) and Mr Houtman (eye fixer) are fabulous surgeons who have come to our place to help out and give folk like me their lives back. Receiving their and their team’s expertise is probably the most humbling experience of my life. They are nice blokes too!
I won’t stop there in my praise of those I encountered at our great hospital. From arrival at the day-of-surgery unit to care on the ward and help at home I was treated with the utmost care and respect by every single person who played a part in my treatment and recovery.
