It is 10 from 10 for the cruise ship season with successful visits of the National Geographic Orion and its 54 passengers on Friday, the Silver Muse carrying 395 passengers on Saturday and the Star Breeze with 312 guests on board on Sunday. The Silver Muse is pictured beyond the Captain Cook statue at Waikanae as the Wa165 steam train crosses Customhouse Street/State Highway 35.

“We were close to calling off Sunday’s visit due to swell conditions, but in the end the captain made the call to stay,” a ship’s agent spokesman said.

“So, we had three further successful visits, making it 10 out of 10 so far.” The feedback he received from the passengers was again positive.

“Especially on Sunday. Those who came ashore commented on how good the weather was. The cycling tours were particularly popular and well received.”

A range of other tours was also provided. The Orion calls back again on Friday.
