I and two retired medical colleagues (one of whom was capped for Ireland) are putting together a history of the 200-plus Medical Doctors who were capped for Ireland since international rugby first began. One of these was the great Bill McKay who practised medicine in the Gisborne area for many years.

We are very anxious to highlight the post-rugby careers of the capped physicians. If there are any family members or others who knew of the late Dr Bill, and who might be in a position to help us tell the story of his medical life in Gisborne, we would be very grateful.

Dr Michael Farrell, Dublin
