The total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in Tairāwhiti has broken the 25,000 mark since Covid was first discovered in the country in late February of 2020.
Te Whatu Ora figures, up to one minute before midnight on Sunday, show 96 new cases had been recorded in Tairāwhiti during that weekly period. No deaths were recorded during the period.
That takes the total of all cases in the region to 25,063 while the death tally remains on 36.
Across the country there have been a total of 2,450,818 cases, 3261 deaths and for this past week, 37 deaths.
Of those 37, three were from Northland, nine were from Auckland region, eight were from Waikato, one was from Bay of Plenty, one was from Lakes, one was from Whanganui, five were from Wellington region, four were from Nelson Marlborough, three were from Canterbury, two were from South Canterbury.
