Motors, engines, automobiles and aviation all collide at the weekend, with the Big Show at the Tairāwhiti Aviation Museum.
Held on Saturday and Sunday, the event is a fundraiser for the Cancer Society and the Trust Tairāwhiti Rescue Helicopter.
On display will be model radio-controlled cars, muscle cars and hot rods, as well as helicopters, a World War 2-era Allison v12 engine start-up demonstration from a 1943 P.40 Kitty Hawk, and a Royal New Zealand Air Force vintage military display.
The star of the show will be a 1934 Duesenburg Auburn, better known as the car from the movie Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Raffle tickets to win a ride in the car are on sale now at selected locations around Gisborne, for $20.
There will also be an acrobatic display by a Texan aircraft from the RNZAF Black Falcons at midday on Saturday ( alternative day Sunday if postponed due to bad weather).
