The Poverty Bay Centre’s dog trial season started well at Ngatapa on Friday and Saturday, and for Tolaga Bay’s Leo Edginton particularly, it was a strong start to the season.
Leo and his dog Larry won the short head and yard with a score of 95 points, then placed second
in the zigzag hunt with Robert, and a score of 64.5 points. In the straight hunt he placed first and second with his dogs Sheildzy and Skye, scoring 95.7 and 97.
Allen Irwin and Murray won the long head, with 94.5 points and Henry Hindmarsh and Spot were the runners-up with 90 points.
Finn McKenzie and Scragg were the runners-up in the short head and yard with a score of 94.5.
Ben Te Kahika and Burt won the zigzag hunt, with a score of 96.
