Spark customers in the Gisborne-East Coast and Wairoa area were affected by an outage from 4.30pm yesterday.

The outage affected all broadband, including fibre and landlines until 3.30am this morning.

A Spark spokesman said he was unable to give numbers of people affected and said “a small subset” of customers in the Gisborne area experienced a loss of broadband service.

He said it was caused by a fibre cut on the Chorus network.

Chorus technicians completed a full restoration of services at 3.30 this morning, he said.
