“Later this year, Four Square celebrates its 100th birthday, so it’s great to be able to start the party early with a unique experience at so many of our stores,”said Greg Stone, the head of Foodstuffs North Island Four Square.
“This collaboration with Six60 is representative of Four Square’s commitment towards community-focused Kiwi living, the cosy spaces we call home and, of course, not forgetting your roots.
“Every Four Square is owned by a local grocer family and each store has been busy coming up with a unique way to celebrate the Six60 tiny house coming to their community.”
Four Square Mangapapa owner-operator Jitesh Ravla said staff were buzzing with excitement .
“It’s a rare treat for us to be at the heart of an event like this and we feel very privileged for the opportunity to do something special for the community of Gisborne.
“The tiny house will be set up at our store on April 23rd and we’ll be playing the band’s biggest hits all day, as well as offering a bunch of $6.60 deals and putting on a sausage sizzle. It’s going to be a ton of fun.”
Meanwhile, police have been making preparations for the concerts and urge people attending both gigs to plan ahead.
“Police will be out in town, on the roads and at the venues,” police area prevention manager Inspector Darren Paki said.
“Enjoy yourself, but don’t cause issues for other people.
“We’ll be running road safety operations both nights and breathalysing drivers, so if you’re drinking, arrange to have someone pick you up after the gig, or get a sober driver.
“Have fun but do it safely.”
