Self inflicted Whoonery’s only result in one being Whooned — literally being shown the “turned thumb”, much to the merriment of those in the imperial box and attic alike.
Being selected as a sacrificial lamb is the result of an accumulation of publicly visible self flagellations that can no longer be tolerated by the Caesar who has told the gravediggers to dig the hole deep because there’s more to follow. Ka Taka Te Kapa.
