Police have confirmed they have two sexual assault complaints under investigion from alleged incidents during the course of the Rhythm and Vines festival over the New Year holiday period.
The Gisborne Herald previously reported one case in the immediate aftermath of the event.
“There have been two sexual assault complaints
laid,” said the head of the Gisborne CIB, Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Moorhouse.
“We are not in a position at this stage to comment on where the inquiries into those two complaints sit except to say both matters are under active investigation, involving two separate incidents involving young women.”
The complainants have been receiving support from police.
