Tairawhiti Multicultural Council is on the look-out for an office/retail space as they plan to expand their outreach to the wider community.
Council president Arish Naresh said having an official retail place will help them get “more presence and help the locals know more about what we do”.
Besides providing relief and help to ethnic communities in Gisborne, the council holds free events like the Colour Run and the Diwali festival for the public to enjoy and experience diversity.
Mr Naresh said the council hopes to scale up their work in the next six months.
“We already have a few things planned.” and with the increasing workload, it’ll be great to have an office to deal with incoming projects.
