RE: A poor display, December 17 letter.

“Anon”, it's quite obvious that you're not a citizen of Gisborne. How dare you call it a poor display on Gisborne's behalf to worry about the health and wellbeing of our residents. Thus far, we have had no reported cases of Covid in the community from this latest outbreak — and we want to keep it that way.

Let's make one thing very clear, we, the actual residents here, put up with a hell of a lot on an annual basis due to RnV — unruly visitors, public drunkenness, rubbish, a riot, and even a death last year. Yes, we as a community had to bare that burden too.

All that the petition was about was in light of Covid-19, we simply don't want to run the risk of an outbreak here — which was inevitable had it gone ahead.
