A PREGNANT teenage girl was “set upon” as she walked along Chalmers Road on Monday afternoon.

The incident happened between Cochrane Street and Birrell Street at around 3pm on Monday.

“The 16 year-old girl was set upon by two males in their late teens or early-20s,” police said. “After a brief struggle she escaped uninjured.

“An aggravating factor to the assault is that the girl is pregnant.”

Police would like to speak to anyone who knows the young men involved or was in the area and saw or heard anything.
