Re: Oil-producing nations accused of stalling plastic pollution treaty, Wednesday page 12 story.
Amongst other things, this AP article pointed out that some of the more than 390 million tonnes of plastic produced annually gets into the human food chain. Addressing this and a treaty to guarantee interventions and restrictions on some of the chemical components are needed.
I add here that 2024 EARTHDAY.ORG™ is running an End Plastic Pollution campaign to draw attention to the harmful effects of plastic in our environment — harming marine and human health, littering beaches and landscapes, clogging waste streams and landfills — to empower people to make a difference.
