Opinion

The road I live on (asphalt) was patched up last year, which was a great relief as its state was more befitting of a far away location far removed from civilisation.

Let’s time-lapse forward a handful of months to now where we find said road returned to its previous state; a state of unworthiness and sad disrepair.

One wonders as to the cost of this exercise, notwithstanding the work crew whose time and effort was, as it turns out, a woeful waste of time and effort.

So as to not bore you further, I will end this  saga by simply asking what process and managers allow this scenario to play out repeatedly across our region with what appears to be no accountability to put a stop to such nonsense!

Has accountability been binned and done away with, along with work pride and doing a job properly?

Call me old-fashioned but shouldn’t this nonsense be put to sleep?
