Aotearoa in Space Showcase at the HB Williams Memorial Library captivated space enthusiasts, where Dr. Andrew Mills, senior science engagement coordinator at Tuhura Otago Museum, introduced the Star Compass exercise.
The aim of this exercise is to navigate a waka from Rarotonga to another island nation using the stars. Other exciting
experiences kids and their whānau get to try at the showcase include building a satellite, launching a rocket, getting up close and personal with four billion-year-old meteorites and making rocket fuel from water.
