Abuse of Olympic Pools staff has been an increasing problem for Gisborne District Council.
Chief executive Nedine Thatcher Swan, in her monthly report to the full council, said there had been an increase in abuse of staff over December.
Police intervention was required and there was an increased number of
trespass notices issued.
Councillor Larry Foster said he was concerned about the situation, which appeared to be “ongoing”. He asked for more information but Ms Thatcher Swann said she wanted to discuss the matter in the public-excluded part of the meeting.
Ms Thatcher Swann’s report said pool staff required more situational/de-escalation training.
