I stand to be corrected, but is it not true that at the moment of birth a child knows nothing, let alone matters of gender and culture? All that is subsequently learned comes from millennia of human existence. How will that child know right from wrong, good from bad, unless — starting from the second from birth — those values are passed on?
A value that I would say is most important is the notion of a nuclear family, where there is a mother and father setting an example they would like their children to follow. Also, to teach them that alternatives should not be a lifestyle choice. This could be discussed around the dining table, not on a device.
That being said, it’s clear some people don’t belong to the above model so, when old enough to think rationally, they will make their own choices.
We have evolved to this civilised situation over the millennia. “Let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water.”
