In our Gisborne Herald dated 16.12.15, letters to the editor “A silver fern” by NZer Forever; I fully agree with your comment.
After myself sending in three flag suggestions then noting an addition of ‘Red Peak’ allowed after cut-off date, I sent in a whole flag to Mr Key and
his selection panel, 1 metre x 60mm, showing an indication of what exactly you said. The current flag with a fern.
I asked that they design it similar to my photo in the best way they can think, as mine came out back to front. I also asked that they add it to the selection and they take all credit.
