Gladstone Road, nominated as a finalist for Best Street in the Keep New Zealand Beautiful national awards, has lost out to Buckingham Street in Arrowtown.
Award winners were announced at a function at Parliament House on Thursday night.
Also in the running for Best Street was Beach Road, Akaroa.
The supreme award went to Taupō, while Tauranga was judged most beautiful large city and New Plymouth, most beautiful small city. Whakatāne won the award for most beautiful large town and Arrowtown collected the prize for most beautiful small town.
