Work is set to begin on the Kāinga Ora complex off Mill Road and Gladstone Road after the site was blessed this week.
Morehu Pewhairanga (left) conducted the blessing.

Representatives from government agencies and Gisborne Construction were also present.
The complex will consist of 21 homes, a mix of two, three and four-bedroom houses and one six-bedroom house. The builders’ first task will be to put up an acoustic wall to minimise noise and to remove contaminated soil. The complex is expected to be completed by mid-2024.
