A group of long-time friends are sharing the Lotto love after striking the million-dollar First Division jackpot on January 3.
The seven will pocket over $140,000 each from their winning ticket bought online.
Several years ago the seven mates opened a joint bank account for “girls’ weekends” and occasionally tested
their betting luck, one of them told The Gisborne Herald.
The winning Lotto ticket was “a very last-minute” purchase done on the night of the draw.
They were “surprised and thrilled” at the windfall and organised “a celebration dinner”. They also intended going “a little further afield” for their next girls’ weekend.
