The weather was expected to be fine for the visit of luxury cruise ship Nautica this morning, but sea conditions might play a part.
“The captain will weigh up the situation when the ship arrives,” a ships agents spokesman said.
All being well, Nautica will make her maiden visit to
Gisborne today, with 600-plus passengers and 400 crew on board.
The ship was scheduled to arrive in Tūranganui-a-Kiwa Poverty Bay at around 7am from Tauranga and sail for Wellington at around 5pm, sea conditions permitting.
The usual onshore excursions have been laid on for the visitors.
