Look at the top end to reduce inflation pressure

There is worldwide inflation and our NZ Government is doing better than most.

Don’t ever blame the poor for inflation while CEOs collect millions of dollars and people use the housing market to make  millions of dollars.

Govt spending has been wider and is supporting regional economies.

The poor spend most of their money in local economies to survive, so small local businesses will do better with that extra spending.

The funds which were allocated to some big projects were mostly not spent, so they’ve had little effect on our inflation. The amounts spent so far on individual development projects are mostly much less than that flag referendum or what was paid to the Saudi sheep farmer.

What was spent is nowhere near the projected spend and money has been reallocated to be used on other things like cyclone repairs and recovery.

Our problem seems to be the excessive profits that every bank, supermarket, power and oil company are making from us when they put prices up to unaffordable levels.

Then we have landlords charging outrageous rent.

That’s all inflationary and ends up in private pockets and often overseas pockets.

That’s the inflation right there.
