A109 Light Utility Helicopter flight with mayor Gisborne City from the air in November 2023.

The good old days have gone — when will it end?

I am 85, and was born and lived in Tolaga Bay. I worked and partied with the old Maori people — we were one big happy family. Ninety percent of the good old buggers have gone now.

The rules and regulations have got out of hand.

One race has too much to say. This is our country too.

I am too old to be told where I can or can’t go.

No one ever complained about the way we were.

The Greenies also have too much to say.

We need to be able to burn slash in the forest or on the beach.

Slash blocks up bridges and floods the land, buggering it for crops and grazing. Water goes through houses.

This will keep going on forever if we are not able to fix this by burning the slash.

Then the land will be good for planting again.

So shut up you Greenies and activists.

Let’s live again the way we were, like the old people. It is common sense.
