Contractors were working yesterday to clear logs stuck in the mud under the three city bridges. The fine weather has meant Roberts Tree Surgeons could get on to the job, and they expect to wrap it up tomorrow.
A post on the Gisborne District Council’s Facebook said a few stubborn logs were stuck under the Gladstone Road Bridge.
“Removing the submerged logs makes it safer for all water users.
“Wood debris seen at low tide along the edge of the river will also be cleaned up.”
