Police inquiries are continuing into the death of former Gisborne man Rowen Aupouri whose body was found washed up on Whirinaki Beach in Hawke’s Bay last Sunday morning.

A rāhui that has been in place in that area since the discovery ends today.

Police earlier this week appealed for information from anyone travelling along State Highway 2 near the Tangoio Stream bridge at around 6.30pm on Friday July 21 and who might have seen anyone with or near a Mazda station wagon.

Mr Aupouri’s death remains “unexplained” police said yesterday and their investigation continues.

He had been living in Napier.
