SERVICE HONOURED: Wendy Ure receives her New Year honour from New Zealand Governor General Dame Patsy Reddy in Wellington yesterday. The tumuaki (manager) of Gisborne Community Early Education Centre/Te Whare Tiaki Tamariki tumuaki becomes a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit. She was honoured for her services to early childhood education. She has worked at the Gisborne Community Early Education Centre for 34 years.
