It has been a big week for 10-year-old Harry Newman from Motu School who has been recognised for his passion and environmental action by the Fred Hollows Foundation.
Harry was named a Junior Ambassador in the Foundation’s annual New Zealand Humanity Awards for the “epic” job the youngster has done
in restoring a bush reserve near his school.
Hannah Moorhouse, the principal at Motu School, nominated him - “Harry is very aware of his surroundings and the importance of preserving them,” she said.
“He demonstrates compassion, integrity and kindness and has a big heart.
He has done an epic job in the reserve”.
