A CLOSE SHAVE: Leah (left) and Renee Reedy recently made the sacrifice to raise funds for the Poverty Bay-East Coast Cancer Society. Renee had not had her hair cut for 20 years, so when she decided to have her head shaved on her birthday Leah decided to join her. She said having her head shaved was empowering. The feedback from people who asked why she had done it was ‘‘amazing’’.
The sisters were ‘‘blown away” by the support of about 20 people who helped them raise $1400. Leah said they were particularly interested in supporting child cancer support services. The two sisters thank everyone who have supported their fundraising.
