I agree with our editor’s comments in his recent editorial, concerning the Bloomfield Road-Bushmere Road intersection. It appears that our District Council has given up on routine maintenance on our rural roads.
While not as dangerous as the aforementioned intersection, many of our rural roads are hazardous and creating excessive repair bills for our vehicles.
I suggest our council staff, the Mayor and her councillors go for a drive in the country to see the damage for themselves. Indeed, I wonder why the residents of Totangi Road, at Ngatapa, are still paying their rates to the council.
