“Covid has had a huge impact on our live shows. It's frustrating not being able to add to the impetus by playing live. The only bonus out of Covid is that we could focus on this new album and had plenty of time to plan the video.”
The video was shot on the beach in Gisborne and along State Highway 35 including Pouawa, Tokomaru Bay, the East Cape Lighthouse and Tolaga Bay.
“We've been blown away by the generosity of the locals that helped to get it made,” Athy said. “It also helps that we live in such a beautiful place.”
“We've had epic feedback, ranging from Kiwis overseas saying we're making them homesick to people saying they want come to Gizzy.”
People can listen and watch for free online wherever they usually source their music e.g. YouTube, Spotify, Facebook, Instagram and Juice TV.
“It's exciting that Local band Lazy Fifty has a new single featuring an epic road trip along SH35 exploring the beauty of our region,” Trust Tairawhiti tourism general manager Adam Hughes said.
“The song and accompanying music video will showcase what we have on offer for this summer to a fresh audience.”
