Former Prime Minister Sir Bill English was in Gisborne for a morning talk yesterday with representatives from the philanthropic and funding sectors.
The focus of that kōrero, hosted by BDO Gisborne, was on “The Art of Giving”, focusing on the sector and the challenges it faces within the community.
Following that, he had an afternoon public session at the Lawson Field Theatre focusing on “How Tairāwhiti can seize the moment”, making the most of all the opportunities to move our region forward. The Gisborne Herald will publish a full interview with Mr English next week.
